Frequently Asked Questions

There is a 72-hour waiting period from the time of getting a marriage license to the marriage ceremony.  


The marriage license expires 30 days from the date it is issued. Once the license expires, it can't be used to get married. You would need to apply for a new license.


Couples may apply at any county clerks office in the State of Texas. The license is good throughout the entire state.
